New Shelter Kits
We're slowly but surely rolling out our Spring 2010 products that will start shipping next week. It's exciting to see it all come together! This is the first of several updates explaining all the changes you can expect to see in the next week!
The first products we refreshed are the GearPods Shelter kit and GearPods Shelter Pro multi-kit system. Underpinning our shelter kits is the new GearPods Adventure Tarp. Other than a name change (it was called Nano Tarp), we've used a slightly heavier fabric for addition durability and we've changed the fabric color from skydiver blue to fluorescent orange. The result is a highly visible tarp, by design. One other subtle change is that the tarp now ships in an oversized stuff sac. The tarp still packs very, very small but conversely it is now easy to stuff the tarp back into the sac. Small things matter. Other than that we're now producing the tarps in volume and have lowered the price to pass on some of those savings to our customers.
Shelter (pictured above) and Shelter Pro inherit the new GearPods Adventure Tarp and also feature a new addition: a set of 6 line tensioners that make it a snap to erect a tarp with taut ridge and guy lines. Just like the existing GearPods Paracord kit, these line tensioners don't require any special knowledge of knots. Last but not least, we've added a set of instructions on erecting a tarp and using the line tensioners. As noted above, by reducing the cost of the Adventure Tarp, we've also been able to lower the price of these kits despite adding new components.
GearPods Adventure Tarp, GearPods Shelter, and GearPods Shelter Pro are available immediately.

I really liked the shelter pro kit. I'm going to have to wait til it stops raining to set it up though. Great product!

Well you guys just talked me in to it...I just ordered a GearPods Shelter Pro multi-kit system. You are making some good products... keep up the good work!
