New Survival Kits
Beginning next week, we're shipping the next version of our survival kit available as GearPods Survival and GearPods Survival Pro (was called Survival CS). We have made many changes and improvements to the survival kits based on customer feedback and the benefits of starting to scale production (allowing us to source better components). On our web site you'll see a full list of contents that are also shown in the photo below.
Here are some of the highlights:
- GearPods Survival now ships in a Large GearPods container - not only to accommodate items that you might want to add, but also to make it easier to unpack and pack the kit when accessing the components.
- The kit includes survival instructions (not shown in photo) printed on waterproof and tearproof Tyvek with custom illustrations.
- New components include the SparkLite (replacing the firesteel used in conjunction with the saw blade in the last kit) and a Fresnel Lens.
- Improved components include a rescue mirror with retro-reflective targeting, the renowned Fox40 whistle, sterile water bag, custom weatherproof stationery printed by Rite In The Rain, vacuum-sealed matches, better repair kit, and the list goes on!
- Items we removed entirely from this kit compared with the 2009 kit: candle, sewing kit
GearPods Survival Pro combines these components with the GearPods Stove System, specifically: GearPods Stove, GearPods CookMug, GearPods Windshield, and two solid fuel tablets.
Our multi-kits - GearPods Backcountry, GearPods Wilderness, and GearPods Warden have all been updated to include these new kits.
